 As the saying goes, there are only 2 times in business when a company should spend money on marketing and advertising; when business is good and when business is bad. Momentum is the reason. Every machines run better when it is consistently used. When business slows down the machine runs inefficiently. Most of the issues in a company can be fixed with the financial ability created by increased sales; marketing and advertising is a key component to sales growth. Too many companies fail because marketing and advertising is budgeted as an 'expendable' item as opposed to a necessity. Henry Ford may have said it the best...
